Red Faction: Guerrilla

Holy crap its been a long time since I posted!:P

Anyways good to be back and since I've been gone we have had two E3 conferences jeez I missed alot!

I've been having a look at the new Red Faction and I have to say it really is worth all the buzz, someone recently said "too much like Halo" I've seen no similarities....well they both have weapons but that's as close as it gets.

The amazing thing about the game is the fact that the writers seem to believe in more for less, the dialogue is simple and effective, it is easy to follow from the get go but some people will probably hate it because of the simplicity of the dialogue they prefer a harder to understand game that confuses everyone but shows writers made an effort.

I feel the writers of this game made a huge effort to make all the dialogue simple and it shows.

Gameplay is amazing, I really got into smashing things with a sledgehammer and in ways I think Red Faction 2 was under rated and outshined because of Halo and now that Red Faction: Guerrilla was released at a different time in the year people get to focus on it and get to see the fun of the franchise.

The plot focuses on Alec Mason a miner who travels from Earth to work on Mars with his brother, everyone on Mars looks the same with their shaven heads. His brother is killed not too long into the game and Alec doesn't seem to seek revenge he just likes to hit things with his sledgehammer.

The game has a million and one references to the old Red Faction series that you only notice if you've played the game.

All in all this game deserves a well rounded 9/10 for all fun and easy dialogue
Its truly a less is more game.

Gears of War 2......Another cult game??

There Are many games out there in production that people have already made their minds up about buying for instance because of the incredible fan base halo has grown over the years the next game, Halo Wars is going to fly off the shelf.....Even if it is a terrible game it will get rave reviews because people don't want to upset the 2-3 million die hard fans that patiently await its arrival, don't get me wrong they make a pretty good series but the creators ruined the last game to improve its online capabilities. Did it work? NO! People enjoyed it for a few weeks then the mighty Gears of War took back its place at the top of Xbox Live's Most played online game. So what happens if the Gears of War creators decide to focus on the online features instead of a classic story will it keep the same die hard fans of the story line? or just sell out to the online gamers, dont get me wrong I like to play a bit on Xbox live now and again but nothing beats a good story line. I know there will be so many haters of this but I would like them to spend a little more time on the story and a little less online because personally Halo 3 ended stupidly and I really hope Gears doesn't. I will buy Gears 2 for the story and I hope people wont try to please everyone by being fake and agreeing Halo 3 was the most amazing game ever, and try to be honest about what you really thought.
